WOOHOO!!!!!!!
Brock and his team were selected by NASA!!!!!
Here is part of the letter:
We are please to inform you that your team was selected to develop and fly their flight experiment, Thermal Moisture Penetration, in the 2010 Ballonsat High Altitude Flight(BHALF) Competition. Your sponsor and the 4 members of your team will travel to the NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, Ohio, to attend the BHALF Flight Days. May, 25th to May 27th, 2010.
Congratulations to your team for submitting a winning proposal. We commend your team's hard work and dedication in preparing for this challenge.
In short, Brock and this team (4 Stansbury High School students) were gathered by our friend Jon (the sponsor) and submitted a project proposal to NASA to send into the stratosphere at NASA.
NASA picked only 4 teams from across the United States, Brock and his team being one of them. (They were up against very strong teams with a lot of background going for them.) They will go back to launch their project. This experiment will take place at 100 thousand feet in the stratosphere and will try to determined if moisture in the stratosphere effects global warming. (The team does not take a position for or against global warming they are just gathering data.)
This is a very prestigious opportunity. They will be able to list this winning on their resumes, college applications, enter for scholarships, and possible have career opportunities.
We are very proud and look forward to being a part of this experience!
Kelly and Jenn
